Ooh, I love that idea! That’s something that would be a fun project for my older kids. Thanks for sharing!

Choosing which days they do which activities. I currently write out checklists in a notebook, and the kids enjoy choosing the order they complete their independence subjects.
It could be fun for older (teens) to actually design their own in Canva, or for younger kids to color or decorate theirs.

Here is the post I did on how we do a simple nature study journal. https://ourlifehomeschooling.com/2023/04/26/how-to-keep-a-simple-nature-notebook/
On the day she has it on her checklist, I have her write one entry. The post explains how we set it up. I hope that answers your question!

What do you have them do? Thank you Sheri for sharing!

You are so welcome! Nice to meet you…I love meeting other homeschooling moms. 🙂 I relate so well to your feelings on having and homeschooling a large family. I am incredibly thankful that God has stewarded this crew to my husband and me, but it’s also a completely different ball game when you are juggling multiple children. I am so glad to hear my content has helped you! Comments like this are what keep me going. Encouraging other moms is the reason I started my blog. Because I know how little our culture values our work and I also know how eternally consequential our influence will be on the next generation, I am passionate about helping moms disciple their children. Keep up the great work you are faithfully doing with your children! In my own little kitchen full of kiddos, I am cheering you on!

I’m a mom of 6 kids, 13 and under, and while I love homeschooling and love having a large family, this year has been the most difficult and discouraging one so far. I was getting desperate for new ideas, but all my homeschool mom friends have only 2 or 3 kids, and what’s working for them is not working me us. The posts I’ve read from your blog so far have been a huge breath of fresh air to me, and have inspired me to keep on keeping on, to try some new approaches to housekeeping and scheduling, and to not loose heart while doing good. Thank you!
