A functional solar system consists of a solar panel which converts light to DC, a controller which monitors and controls the energy provided to charge the battery, a battery charger, the battery and, finally, an inverter to convert DC to AC.

We used this kit in the last public school I worked in to make an entire room where our Amateur Radio station was installed. I worked fine and easily carried the load demanded by our gear.
It is also the kit used in many RVs or boats to provide power to be completely off the grid.
When installing it is important to make your installation neat. Fasten the charge controller and inverter to the wall and put the batteries in a secure location. It is very imprtant to enclose the entire system, but be sure you pay attention to providing plenty of ventilation.
